Backing Tracks from Acoustic Backs And Tracks - FAQs

by Sheldon Conrich 16 Aug 2025

At Acoustic Backs & Tracks (AB&T), we’re passionate about helping singers, musicians, and performers deliver their best performances. Whether you’re preparing for a wedding, a gig, or a social media showcase, our backing tracks are designed to give your voice and artistry the spotlight it deserves.

We often get asked questions about how our tracks can be used, licensing rules, and what makes our acoustic and piano tracks unique. To make things easier, we’ve put together this FAQ guide to answer the most common queries.

Backing Tracks for Social Media

Can I use backing tracks to perform on social media?
Yes! You can use AB&T backing tracks to perform on social platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. They’re perfect for creating engaging videos and connecting with your audience.

Can I monetise my social media videos with backing tracks?
Yes, you can share and monetise content featuring our tracks, but keep in mind that platforms may detect the original song composition and distribute royalties accordingly.

Backing Tracks for Live Performances

Can I use backing tracks to perform live?
Yes—as long as the venue or event has the correct license for public performance (such as PRS/PPL in the UK or the equivalent in your country). This ensures that the original songwriters and rights holders are properly compensated.

Can I use backing tracks at weddings and private events?
Absolutely. Weddings, ceremonies, and private parties are some of the most popular uses for our acoustic and piano tracks.

Recording with Backing Tracks

Can I record my vocals on the backing tracks?
Definitely! Many singers use our tracks for auditions, demo recordings, and personal projects. Adding vocals gives another dimension and allows you to make the track uniquely yours.

Can I upload my version to Spotify or streaming platforms?
Only if you’ve purchased a custom artist version from AB&T. Our standard tracks are licensed for personal use and performance, but not for commercial release.

Customisation and Keys

Can I download a backing track in an alternative key?
No. Because our tracks are recorded live with acoustic instruments, a new key requires a fresh recording. We’re happy to create custom versions for you in the key and tempo you need.

Do you offer custom backing tracks?
Yes. From unique arrangements to personalised first-dance versions, we can create tracks tailored to your performance or event.

Licensing and Artist Compensation

Are the original recording artists compensated when I purchase a backing track?
Yes. AB&T pays a yearly license fee that covers downloads. This fee is distributed to the original artists and rights holders, ensuring fair compensation.

Do I need to buy a license separately?
No. When you purchase a track from us, our licensing covers your personal and performance use (excluding commercial releases like Spotify uploads, unless custom). For live public shows, the venue must hold the performance license.

Popular Uses of AB&T Backing Tracks

Backing Tracks with Sheet Music

Do your tracks include sheet music?
No. We don't provide the sheet music for our backing tracks.

Can you provide sheet music with your backing tracks?
Yes and no. We have a bespoke sheet music service but this is done on a track by track basis. Some tracks will be fine, whilst others we won't be able to offer sheet music. Please enquire if you'd like us to create you some bespoke sheet music.

General FAQs

Do your tracks include a guide track?
Yes. All our tracks come with either a guide melody track (usually on guitar) or a guide vocal track to help you practise before your performance. These can only be used in private and not for public performance.

Do your tracks include vocals?
No. Our tracks are fully instrumental, leaving room for your voice to shine.

Are your tracks available worldwide?
Yes! You can purchase and download our tracks from anywhere in the world instantly.

What’s the difference between acoustic and piano backing tracks?

  • Acoustic guitar tracks: Great for folk, pop, and stripped-back singalongs.

  • Piano tracks: Perfect for ballads, weddings, and emotional performances.

That's All Folks

Whether you’re an event performer, a tribute act, or a singer building your online presence, AB&T backing tracks give you the flexibility, quality, and licensing peace of mind to perform with confidence.

If you have more questions not covered here, feel free to contact us—we’d love to help you find the perfect track for your next performance.
